Too Much 04:49
i don't drink too much i don't smoke too much but too much is hard to define i'm hanging by a single thread and it's woven into your mind i'm sick and tired cause i worked all day and my feet are dirty as hell but you let me in to the warmth of your bed like you fed me down into the well take me down to the river let me dip in the spring bury me deep where my soul can't see a thing and the water is safe to drink the leaves have changed but there ain't no fall from the clouds high up in view the seas won't rise there's no tears in our eyes to flow back into i'm sick and tired of far away being so damn far from here someday we'll be in that country that was promised us all of these years

Eugene 03:17
i woke you up with my listening to your heart beat song and your breathing in we'd been crying for driving five hours straight back into the state it seems we can't escape but Eugene made it home Eugene fought the war and saved a hundred lives or more he always kept his family close Eugene never told a lie he asked his darling for her hand he gave her diamonds without boast left their prints on foreign sands and sailed the ship to richest coast and Eugene made it home i did not know the man but i shook his hand felt the weakness grow and my face turn red cause i was not half the man and i may never know if i will make it there but Eugene made it home

i've got friends that i could not witness i've got friends that i barely see he's at his end and it's been a long time coming to shed the skin and see the way it feels to bleed and the sound of darkness echoes in the distance and i've found that when i'm with him we drink till we're free why is it so hard to survive in this world with the debts of a hard city life sorrow is found when the payment is down why is it so hard to survive it's midday and the sun is revealing in it's own way, it's his own life he is stealing burning fire, ball of flame in the center of his chest your desire, find a way to carry it best and the sound of darkness echoes in the distance and i've found that when i'm with him we drink till we're free she's out of her mind and wild with rage she is striking you down and she will not be caged she is breaking down walls you built behind your lungs and with the crash of her tears make a straight path for the way she will run why is it so hard to survive in this world with the debts of a hard city life sorrow is found when the payment is down why is it so hard to survive

about

These songs were written during a time of great heaviness.

May they serve as cool water over a tired body.
