winter breeze in the summer a mountain top in june but when it ends it's never over it always finds me anew a mother cradles her dear one and wraps him close to her heart just to tell me that old story of why hard to be apart when she watched him rest in the sacred place when the leaves were blessed by a silent face and the roots could taste as he fell beneath all things must decay all things will release and when he fell out from her arms i couldn't hear the sound cause when the city has all your needs it's hard to hear the ground so i fell in disbelief there wasn't even a fight and when he lied down upon the leaves he grew in me a new life it was a slight of hand too sweet for reprimand that i may never understand

The Tower 04:03
east of the garden there's a place we can rest the fruit trees are full and the well's bottomless we wander until we call out in distress you answered and we have been blessed you can never tell if it came from the ground or down from the clouds when we looked a round we walked the whole earth until food had been found you answered and we heard the sound we hiked the land until we found the rock sick of the rain and we were cursing the walk we laid a foundation with various blocks and blessed are the hands of the clock but watch what you build with your hands on your own no matter on sand or the sturdiest stone i've asked you to trust in the land i have shown but you built up your tower alone we caught the fish and we shot at the birds and at our feet creation served we spoke of our greatness and spoke of the word in a language that all people heard and when all the sweat settled down on our brow and the fields were all plowed for a life on the town we sat back and drank our work now world renowned and bowed down at the feet of our cow but now we're alone in a pile of ash gnashing our teeth at the streets full of trash blaming the fall on any who pass and no one remembers how to ask but watch what you build with your hands on your own no matter on sand or the sturdiest stone i've asked you to trust in the land i have shown but you built up your tower alone east of the garden there's a place we can rest the fruit trees are full and the well's bottomless we wander until we call out in distress you answered and we have been blessed yes, you answered and we have been blessed

what is this above us like the way we choose to live choking our freedom like a wall that must give we are all searching for the taste of open air but this slowly flowing water keeps up going nowhere what have i forsaken have i dropped all i believe and words cannot be spoken that would comfort me when i face the dark rushes with my back against a wall held within the clutches of a haunting fall like a holy fountain and it is wearing down the heart hold to the water, do you feel this anymore? an aching thunder rises up from the dark we are lost between a rock and all that's hard there is a place beneath the surface where my longing turns to grief and the beauty of this purpose is so hard to see that there is a life beyond this creek bed where a soul can finally be lost in such an ocean where even danger is relief it is a rushing river in the caverns of my heart we will toss and turn forever and that is a good place to start like a holy fountain and it is wearing down the heart hold to the water, do you feel this anymore? an aching thunder rises up from the dark we are lost between a rock and all that's hard

Waking Drum 04:30
one hundred or more in the street, in the night no sirens, just the beating of the twilight, of the fight pistol shot and it's lost in the heart of the moon and no one spoke but the saints and they were crying for the wound with the sound of the waking drum tears may be shy but they will come days have passed but no one will outlast the waking drum a young girl with his life flashing before her eyes some prayer of defeat to help cover up the lies showing signs of her strength to help keep herself above but passion can be harmful when you don't know where it's from with the sound of the waking drum tears may be shy but they will come days have passed but no one will outlast the waking drum and none of us are innocent there are things i have killed but the wake it is imminent and the beating eternal

Ember's Song 03:40
a mattress flat in a concrete room credit card and a payment due stoke the fire for an hour or two black coffee and a window view quiet talk the whole night through winter wind held me close to you afraid to ask of what we should do keep it simple and we'll keep it true your shape is an ember's song whisper low until the fever is gone my hair is grey and your's is long long is the night when the curtain's drawn take my money and take my pride these things wither with time and so will we so don't stress your mind let's just learn how to live our lives until the day that we both die i will hold you buy my side and i will sleep beneath your eyes it's the purest love i could hide behind though this road is a winding mile i will walk with you all the while my fuel is your lasting smile long after we walk the aisle your shape is an ember's song whisper low until the fever is gone my hair is grey and your's is long long is the night when the curtain's drawn long is the night when we carry on long is the night will you be my wife

the wind in the sail is breaking the fall of yesterday's ailments and i can no longer steer this hollow frame now that i'm strong it's hard to see the waves in front of me and this crashing tide is held by the rain the captains overboard and my hand is at the wheel this vessel churns forward and some distant star hides in the clouds and i hold in my hand a plan of reaction to set my feet safe on the sand but i've married the dark and my head is too proud the waves of an ocean set my feet on this rock and the cries of a motion teaching me how to walk again and this days getting shorter lord i am so afraid but this heart is getting older and i'm learning how to pray again sliver me down until i'm in pieces sliver me down i can do it myself sliver me down to still smaller pieces sliver me down i control my own health

peculiar reminiscence finds me walking in mesquite legs caught up in the branches riding low to keep my head underneath because i'm always on the move here i can't let my heart settle down just like the water in this slow moving stream always alive and it makes a constant sound in the little i've seen this world is full of changes and the grass never stays the same shade of green in the little i've seen death is on the horizon but the turning of the pages like colors on trees lead us back to the spring quietly picking greens for the harvest fill the basket to the top a prayer of thanks for what we're given a prayer of thanks for what we're not cause this whole thing is just a gamble the chips may fall in different hands and we're all part of the same body and that part is the hardest to understand and if you really got to know me i'm more than half-hearted grins sometimes i'm on my best behavior sometimes i am drowning again i'm only alive when i'm breathing and i'm breathing most of the time and when i go out in explosion if you look bits of me you will find in the little i've seen this world is full of changes and the grass never stays the same shade of green in the little i've seen death is on the horizon but the turning of the pages like colors on trees lead us back to the spring quietly

when the judgement rose high above the sands of time almost a decade by high terrain wheels have bouldered i felt the pain inside the missile shelter i promise you justice is not in the plan gotta believe that hate is more than a man in the hiding place lions tremble a lack of grace and a nation crumbles i heard you say war is over but not today even if your weapon is lowered i promise you that justice is not in the plan gotta believe that hate is more than a man it's hard to tell who is the lion and who is the lamb we judge the living by the works of supply and demand and still die by our own hands i'm concerned with my salvation and what i've earned is not some consolation and the fateful few sleeping in their beds across celebrate a lost life i promise you that justice is not in the plan gotta believe that hate is more than a man i promise you that i would have ran gotta believe that hate is more than a man because he is hiding inside me
